“My top priority is to survive. Not only do I have to worry about my own survival but the survival of my fellow comrades during this cataclysm. They turn to me for the next instruction, for the next meal and the next direction; I suppose you could call me their leader, the man in charge behind this operation of this, that and the other. They trust me with their lives and show nothing else but loyalty and determination. In return I give them my word and respect, knowing that my word means something to them more than it does to me.
Russia was once my homeland, now it is a country I barely recognise. The tremendous horde of mutants has pushed mankind into the mountains and oceans but only a handful of us have remained on our own soil, standing our ground and fighting for the right to live here once again. The mutants dare not go near the coastline; it’s the only safe place I know where we can retreat without the fear of mutants stampeding their way into our home. The cities are a different matter, we must move quietly and carefully for supplies unless we wish to be bombarded by hundreds upon thousands of mutants.
Despite the human race heading for extinction I do believe that one day we will once again live in our warm homes, watch our children play and grow, and live in a world that we once hated due to greed and power. For now the future looks bleak, the mutants have crushed our hope, impounded the cities and are multiplying rapidly. They may have abused the world but everything has a weakness and that weakness will soon be visible.”
