lend me your ears
some towns have high crime rates, while others have the fashion police. some towns are so loaded they don’t know what to do with themselves and others are so pathetically poor hey don’t even realize it. some towns are hosting tours by world famous bands while others remain content with their uneventful and ignorant bliss. some towns are gossip centrals while others advertise their utopia-like qualities. so what happens when there’s a town that isn’t quite that popular or crime-ridden? what happens when gossip isn’t every other citizen’s life and wealth is held on various pedestals? what if music wasn’t something the town was privileged to host for one exciting and hot summer? what if music… was the people?
welcome to boston, massachusetts. the ‘city of champions’, as the sports fans will have you know. the ‘city on a hill,’ to most geographers. or the ‘cradle of liberty,’ a term more popular among historians. but there is so much more to boston than meets the average tourists eye. each person you meet, each smiling face and unique style, is so much more than a run of the mill bostonian. ever get the feeling you knew someone well enough… that you could pick out ‘their song’? in boston, this concept becomes a reality: for each thriving soul that walks the streets there is a tune, a melody. for each diary that is written or blog that is posted, there is a set of lyrics written. each life has a rhythm. each person is a song.
the only question is… what’s yours?
and i’ll sing you a song
