"But milord, you were dead!"

"So I was."

"But how did you come back?" Bellatrix asked, awed.

"The restoration stone and our children."

"What?"

"You left them at an orphanage," Riddle hissed, spitting out the last word with disdain. "You believed them to be Rodolphus'. You even gave them the surname Black to dishonor him, but I found them and I can assure you they are not Lestrange's. Hortensia, Charlus, come meet your mother."

From the shadows two adults entered, one male and the other female. The male looked more content than the female whom was obviously vexed about something.

Meanwhile the Wizarding World thought that all was well. That, perhaps, was a more convenient truth than the harsh reality that was about to occur. The Dark Lord had been destroyed and defeated by Dumbledore in 1991. He was gone, and nothing and no one was going to bring him back. The Wizarding World was ready to move on with their lives after what had happened in those terror filled years of his existence - ready to embrace the boy-who-lived as a sign that peace was here to stay. Potter was the chosen one. Times were golden. All was well. Nothing could drag them down or so they thought.

But in 1998, seven years after the defeat of the Dark Lord, two bitter sixteen year old's found the restoration stone and brought back Riddle. When Riddle was restored with some other fallen Death Eaters (Severus Snape, Evan Rosier, Jr. ; Antonin Dolohov, Walden Macnair, Thorfin Rowle, and Malleus Selewyn) they waited a year before they struck again. To lull them into a false sense of security and elation. To show them how very wrong they really were. All was NOT

[/u] well. But they were to find that out themselves. The first indicator that things weren't as well as suspected were familiar shadows passing in the streets, all too familiar and all too fearsome and loathsome. Not to mention the rapes, murders, and assaults that seemed to be happening on a more regular basis.

Two years ago, Andromeda Tonks was found dead in her home. The muggles said it was suicide, but the Wizarding World knew better. A month later some bridges were torn off their hinges by giants causing the deaths of two hundred thirty-four muggles and two wizards. Two months after that an inferi was rumored to have been seen. The Prime Minister, a muggle born wizard killed himself. However, this wasn't by choice. He was imperioed by Rodolphus Lestrange to do so. The muggles knew something was up, but they had no idea of what the Dark Lord's scheme was.

"Well anyone could tell that hooligan is evil, look at his nose. He could do with a nose job," Vernon Dursley snapped.

Lily Potter looked up to see what her brother-in-law was talking about and then turned to her husband James, "It must be getting pretty bad if they're putting Voldemort on muggle television."

"Aaa-aunt Lily, isn't he the one that gave Harry that awful scar?"

"Yes, Dudley."

There was a splintering of wood as the door was kicked in. Vernon and Dudley were dead within seconds killed by Rabastan Lestrange and Antonin Dolohov, respectably. Bellatrix cackled with her wand held at Petunia's horsey throat. "Say good-bye to Lily," she said in a baby-voice.

"PETUNIA!" Lily shrieked.

"Lily, she's dead," James said, trying to tear his wife from her dead sister and wishing that he could just unleash his fury on the three Death Eaters.

"PETUNIA!"

James looked up as the Death Eaters apparated away. "What scared them off?" he muttered. Looking over, he noticed the form of Albus Dumbledore with Fawkes on his shoulder. "Dumbledore," he said with a pained smile.

Two month's ago Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shaklebolt was found murdered in the streets. He was speculated to have been killed by Voldemort himself; but no one's certain. Dark times were ahead, they were sure. Two weeks later it was confirmed that it was Voldemort and he had returned, though, many weren't sure how or for how long the Dark Lord had been there or preparing to fight both muggles and wizarding folk alike. A month later a dementer was reported to have been seen in Yorkshire. Unfortunately, it attacked a muggle family so all of their memories had to modified.

People are scared. Tension and turmoil lay thick in the air. Meanwhile students are at Hogwarts — fighting, flirting, learning, and falling in love. The Order knows they have to recruit and strike fast for the Ministry is being corrupted by dark witches and wizards in the Ministry working to turn it inside out and it may not be long before the Ministry makes a CONSPIRACY WITH THE DEVIL.
